Woodfill is a 1990 graduate of the University of Texas and received his law degree from St. Mary's University in 1993. He is active in Houston-area community issues and has served as chairman of the Houston-area Republican Party since 2002. He is licensed to practice in Texas and New York state courts, as well as U.S. District Courts for Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit.
